I just finished the anime "welcome to the NHK" and ive read 2 volumes of the manga so far. I was searching to see the fan art of the series and theres likea grand total of like 6 fan art pics comapre that to the 60,000 naruto fan art pics. I thought id do some fan art of a lesser known series just becuase its so well made and that its very original.


Generall overview of the series:

Welcome to the NHK deals with a Hikamaru(a person who doesnt leave his room and normally learns everything from manga,books, his computer and TV) named Satou. He meets a girl named Misaki who has her own share of problems. she aproaches Satou to help cure his ways of a Hikamaru by giving him weekly councling. and also finds out that his neighbor is also a Hikimaru that he saved from bullies back in high school. Bizzare as it may soud him and his friend try to escape there Hikamaru ways by creating a Hentai game. Often through out Satou has several visions and is going crazy in a sense feeling lonley even in a crowd of others.

NHK can be somewhat depressing at times as its easy to find yourself in some of the characters. I find the feeling of "welcome tto the NHK" is similar to that of the movie fight club. Needless to say while it is pretty serous there is alot of humour such as Satou playing final fantasy online and realizing that he cant exactly fight huge monsters befor defeating small ones to gain exp thus has funny scene where he hits a small pink blob repeatedly and pokes it to see if its dead lol. I recomend this to anyone who likes drama and offbeat stories.

Differences between Manga and anime

so far they differ quite a bit. The manga takes a bit more darker tone but at same time has more comedy I guess everything is just more extreme and ment more for adults(lots of nudity, and swearing) while the anime can be for teens as well as it doesnt have any nudity or anything too too suggestive.
